Tour Schedule & Details*
Day 1: Arrival and Welcome Reception: Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Spa, Scottsdale
Your Route 66 Tour begins in Scottsdale, Arizona at the award-winning Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Spa. And like all of the accommodations on the trip, it sets the bar high. After you arrive, you will enjoy a welcome reception and meet your driving instructors and fellow travelers; raise a toast to the thrilling week ahead.
Day 2: Scottsdale to La Posada Hotel and Gardens, Winslow
Maybe you’ve heard the song about standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona. But since you’ll be driving a 911, the corners on the way there will be far more riveting. The stunning drive to Winslow brings you to La Posada, a historic Southwestern hotel that has played host to guests such as Albert Einstein, Amelia Earhart, and John “The Duke” Wayne.
Day 3: Winslow to The Grand Hotel at The Grand Canyon
It took the Colorado River six million years to carve the Grand Canyon. Today we think you’ll agree it was worth the wait. Epic roads and breathtaking views abound. There are also many exciting opportunities to view this natural wonder like Skywalk, a stunning glass bridge giving you a unique view over the Canyon. The nights accommodations won’t disappoint either as you’ll check into the only three-diamond hotel in the region, The Grand Hotel at The Grand Canyon.
Day 4: Grand Canyon to Amara Resort and Spa, Sedona
Today’s drive will lead you along spectacular serpentine roads to the mystical Red Rock region around Sedona. After some amazing twists and turns, you’ll check in at the hidden retreat called Amara Resort and Spa. Located at an elevation of 4,500 feet at the foot of vibrant Uptown Sedona, it puts you within steps of eclectic shops, lauded dining and fine art galleries.
Day 5: Day trips around Sedona and Flagstaff
One day in the Sedona area could never be enough. With so many breathtaking roads snaking through scenic canyons, a second day in this magnificent setting is a must. In addition to more great drives, you’ll also have the chance to explore Sedona’s hiking trails, eclectic shops, and galleries. As the sun sets, relax and let someone else take the wheel. For the afternoon, we’ll head over to Flagstaff to absorb this quintessential Route 66 town. We’ll settle in for drinks at sunset, dinner and all the other elements that make this such a great town. At the end of the evening, you’ll return to Sedona for a second night at Amara Resort and Spa.
Day 6: Sedona to Jerome/Prescott to Andaz Scottsdale Resort and Spa
After departing Sedona, you’ll experience the curve-after-curve fun of the road from Jerome to Prescott. The route includes the hair-raising switchbacks and steep drops of Mingus Mountain. Along the way, there are plenty of shops, museums, and cafes. From there, your Route 66 Tour heads back to Scottsdale. You’ll end the thrilling trip where it all began, at the Andaz Scottsdale, and celebrate your adventures with a finale dinner party.
Day 7: Program Concludes: depart Scottsdale
