About the Porsche Cayenne
Building upon the success of the first-generation model introduced in 2003, the Porsche Cayenne pushes the boundaries of performance with technological innovations, enhanced on-road exhilaration, and luxurious comfort. Now more striking than ever before, the athletic exterior of the Cayenne features new styling accents and engineering breakthroughs. Matching its bold styling, the interior of the Cayenne includes several of the same enhancements and technologies that debuted on the award-winning Porsche Taycan. At home on both paved stretches of tarmac and rugged mountain passes, the Cayenne continues to set the standard for today’s midsize luxury SUV with evocative styling, go-anywhere performance capabilities, and innovative tech features. Buyers have their choice of the well-appointed Cayenne or the sport-focused Cayenne S, each with its own unique persona.
What The Critics Say
“Porsche describes this upgrade as “one of the most extensive” in the company’s history. Porsche’s heritage comes from the sportier side of the automotive world, so it has made the Cayenne one of the few luxury midsize SUVs to bring genuine driver enjoyment. For those with the funds and the fascination, the new Cayenne is a must-consider.” — Kelley Blue Book
“This mid-size, two-row luxury crossover is unnaturally light on its feet, with chassis tuning derived from over two decades of performance-SUV supremacy. Turbocharged V-6, twin-turbo V-8, and plug-in hybrid powertrains are available, creating a broad lineup of Cayenne variants. All are expressly athletic, with delicate handling that’s a rarity in the SUV marketplace.” — Car and Driver
What’s New for 2025
Fans of the Porsche Cayenne will be thrilled to learn that the dynamic Cayenne GTS is making its return to the model lineup for the 2025 model year. This high-performance SUV stands out with its enhanced 493-horsepower version of the 4.0L twin-turbo V8 that’s also shared with the Cayenne S. GTS models can also be identified by their water-cooled all-wheel drive system, black exterior accents, and unique suspension tuning. Rounding out the list of updates, all Cayenne trim levels now include soft-close doors, ambient lighting, Surround View with Active Park Support, and locking wheel bolts as standard equipment.
Porsche Cayenne Features
Performance
In terms of power, the Cayenne is motivated by a standard 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 producing 348 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in 5.7 seconds (or 5.4 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono package). Step up to the Cayenne S and you’ll receive a potent 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 468 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. Cayenne S models can reach 60 MPH from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds with the Sport Chrono package and continue on toward a top track speed of 170 MPH. For maximum thrills, the Cayenne GTS features a muscular 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 493 horsepower and 486 lb-ft of torque. Also standard across the Cayenne range is a precision-tuned eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission. Contributing to both stability and comfort is standard automatically-adjusting Porsche Active Suspension Management. An available Sport Exhaust System provides a race-inspired soundtrack as you rocket down the straightaway with your Porsche Cayenne.
Design
In keeping with the lineage of its predecessors, the Porsche Cayenne prominently features several design cues which represent a logical continuation to this model’s impressive legacy. Its front fascia includes enlarged air intakes in addition to horizontal light edges which give the Cayenne a wider, more confident look. With the rear seats in their upright position, cargo volume measures an impressive total of 27.3 cubic feet of space. Standard HD Matrix Design LED headlights boost the visual appearance of the Cayenne while delivering exceptionally clear illumination. Bold alloy wheel designs ranging from 20 to 22 inches in size provide the Cayenne with an immediately recognizable look, both at a standstill and while in motion.
Interior
Originally debuted inside the 918 Spyder, the Porsche Cayenne now includes a specialized Sport Chrono Package with individually configurable modes. You’ll experience a new level of connectivity with the most current version of Porsche Communication Management (PCM). A revised display and control concept for the Cayenne comes in the form of a massive 12.3-inch full-HD touchscreen. PCM gives drivers the ability to customize their experience thanks to personalized layouts with space for up to six individual profiles. Specialized sound systems from BOSE® and Burmester® provide a concert-like listening experience in the Porsche Cayenne. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration are also included as standard. Passengers will be excited to discover the dedicated passenger-side display screen, allowing them to interact with the system without disturbing the driver.
Safety
Another perk of driving a Porsche Cayenne is the comprehensive collection of active safety technologies designed to keep you protected from the unexpected. For example, Active Speed Limit Assist includes the confidence of Traffic Sign Recognition for enhanced convenience and peace of mind when using cruise control. Adaptive Cruise Control featuring Evasion Assist can respond and react in emergency avoidance situations. Turn Assist works by bringing the vehicle to a stop in the event a potential collision is detected when making left-hand turns at speeds of up to 6 MPH. Optional Porsche InnoDrive has been enhanced with Active Lane Keep and Intersection Assist, giving you a helping hand in traffic jams or on highways. Collectively, these groundbreaking innovations help keep you safe and in control behind the wheel of the Porsche Cayenne.
